About the Role

In lieu of a traditional communications director, Progress Libs has established a 7 member board of communications (separate from the At Large Board of Directors). The Board consists of experts in traditional political communications, online content creation and digital strategy. By employing a diverse board of communicators, Progress libs is developing a comprehensive and innovative communications strategy for a new digital age.

Progress Libs is seeking a passionate and talented member for the Communications board with experience and insight into the digital world to join our team.
The candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the digital presence of Progress Libs. We pride ourselves in being tied to online communities and in-touch with trends, this is a must for any candidate.
This is a remote position, but candidates located in the Washington, D.C. area are preferred

Responsibilities

- Develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies to spread Progress Lib’s message and influence

- Cultivate relationships with influencers and online communities to expand our reach and impact.

- Craft engaging and compelling messaging for various audiences, including press releases, newsletters, and social media posts.

- Manage existing relationships and partnerships

- Monitor and analyze digital engagement metrics to optimize and improve communication strategies.

- Collaborate with other teams within Progress Libs to align messaging and maintain a consistent brand voice.

- Stay informed about current political and social issues, as well as digital communication trends.

- Manage and curate content for all social media platforms (Discord, Twitter “X”, TikTok, Instagram), ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and values.

- Create Reports every quarter detailing the strategy, implementation, results and future changes

Qualifications

- Proven experience in social media management and digital communications, particularly in the political or advocacy space

- Insight and experience in online spaces

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.

- Familiarity with digital analytics tools and social media management platforms.

- Creative mindset with the ability to think outside the box.

- Upstarting personality, you are here at the ground floor, be ready to build

- Bachelors in Communications preferred but not required

-Knowledge of online environments

-experience in content production (traditional media, tiktok, etc)
